Mounting & Positioning

In this video, we teach how to use the mounting arm and position the VetGuardian device. Proper positioning is crucial to obtaining accurate vital sign readings. Before you begin, power on the device.

The Steps:

1

Turn over the VetGuardian device to locate the clip on the back.

2

Remove the Clip:

  • Push down on the top of the clip where the grooves are and slide it downward to remove it.

3

Prepare the mounting arm:

  • Grab the end of the mounting arm, which is not attached to the clamp, and attach the clip by screwing it onto this end.

  • With the other end, attach the clamp of the mounting arm to an IV pole or directly to a cage, and tighten the clamp securely.

4

Adjust the device position:

  • Turn the center knob counterclockwise to slightly loosen the mounting arm.
  • Tilt the clip downward at a 45-degree angle, ensuring the patient’s full body will be visible to the VetGuardian camera. The mounting arm is highly adjustable, so some adjustment may be needed to find the right position.

  • Once satisfied with the position, turn the center knob clockwise to tighten the mount, then slide the device back into the clip.

5

Log in to the VetGuardian cloud app at cloudapp.vetguardian.com and select your device.

6

Click "Enable video" on the Session Setup screen and use the live video feed to readjust the mounting arm if necessary, ensuring the patient’s full body and head are visible to the camera.

7

Lastly, test the accuracy of vital signs:

  • On the Session Setup Screen, add a patient.
  • Click “Start” and ensure that the BioSignal value is consistently above the threshold of 21%. If the Biosignal value falls below 21%, the device must be repositioned.

Congratulations! You're now fully ready to run a monitoring session with VetGuardian.
